Popular fiction portrays cloning in laboratory incubators, a far fetched and unrealistic portrayal of the technology.

Cloning, especially those of humans is one of those touchy subjects where everyone has an opinion. This article clears many of the popular fallacies about cloning and challenges the movie inspired myths of embryos being cloned in laboratory incubators or vats depending on which science fiction author you are reading. The main thrust of the article is to provide a balanced view about the technology behind cloning and to open for discussion and debate the entire aspect of cloning from an ethical and moral standpoint. Obviously there are ethical and moral boundaries when you consider cloning a human being. What about organs though? With the high rejection rates in organ transplants and the immuno-suppresive regimes that organ transplant patients have to follow for the rest of their lives, can organ cloning be really a bad thing? The debates continue…
