Dr. Robert Sandor
Dr. Bob Sandor has over 25 years of experience managing high tech businesses. He has led the start up and growth of 5 technology companies. Dr. Sandor has marketed a broad range of technical products, including analytical instrumentation for pharmaceutical and semiconductor manufacturing, plastic sheet for construction and automotive applications, and general laboratory supplies. He has a track record of successfully commercializing leading-edge technology in the US market. As the VP/GM of Smiths Detection Life Sciences, he led the division in the commercialization of the paradigm-shifting IONSCAN LS. The IONSCAN LS is an in-house developed instrument for pharmaceutical QC analysis that achieved sales of $3MM USD in its third year of operation. As VP at ECI Technology, Dr. Sandor was responsible for marketing and global distribution of an analytical equipment product line serving the semiconductor industry. Dr. Sandor was also GM of Markson Labsales, a direct mail/catalog distributor of analytical laboratory equipment with annual sales of $3.5MM. He began his career at Hoechst Celanese Corporation, where he led the CRF-Cut Resistant Fibers business team and established the North American subsidiary of Hostaglas Plastic Sheet Products. Dr. Sandor has authored over 40 patents and technical publications. Dr. Sandor has a B.S. in Chemistry from The University of Rochester and a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from Brandeis University.
